WIFI printer ?

A printer must be labeled as WiFi direct for it to connect without a router. That printer will also work through a router.
Your PC can connect using either methods BUT it can only connect with one OR the other.
If you are using 'direct' you will not be able to connect to the internet.

MOST of the info here is correct, however, as a 20 year computer tech. I would recommend NOT using wifi to hook up the printers. Hard wire the printer to the router (since you normally don't move printers around) and then use the wifi for your laptop. Although wifi works a lot of the time for printing it is still flaky and I would avoid it where I could and you can simply have your router in close proximity to the printer. I have not seen a wifi printer that does not have an ethernet (hardwired) port yet (although I've by no means seen everything) so this should not be a problem.
Also, if you spend a little more on your router you can get one with some amplification to pickup campground wifi and then connect any device to your router in the TT instead of having to connect each individual device to camp wifi. This is what I do with an external antenna and it works great.

We had vivid demonstration of it recently, when some ding-ding cut through the fiber optic cable serving this valley. No internet for anybody. Our local network within the house worked fine. And so did the wireless printer.

You need to look at your printer because some DO use Bluetooth as well. If the PC supports BT, this system works great.
You can also set up the PC to talk to the printer on WiFi direct without a router, but if I remember, once you do that it's much more difficult to access the internet. In Monkey terms: buy a cheap router.. :)

Toshiba Satellite Laptop = Windows 7 ... maybe Vista and XP are similar.

I have no internal router, but that seems simpler than setting up each one separate. With a router, any internal equipment can connect between one another if wireless? Is that accurate?

Both my printers (new) say "Wireless" -- so, if I get a router, it will act as internal wifi system? And will read the signal from PC to Router, to printer?

You do not need access to the internet nor an ISP. While it is easier and more scalable, you do not need a router.

Basically you need a WiFi router but internet access is not required or used.

Wireless mouse or keyboard can be infrared or Bluetooth style, which is a direct one to one connection

Wi-Fi is on a different frequency and setup differently

Wi-Fi usually has a central access called a router, and is setup up as a network, but in some cases a direct connection between two devices can be made
Internet access is not needed, for a pc to connect to a printer
Unless they are not in the same location, ie send something to the printer at home when on the road..not something usually needed

As I understand it, you do not have to have an Internet connection but you do need a wifi router of some sort that both the pc and the printer can connect to.
