- theoldwizard1Explorer IIThis will vary from printer to printer.
Delete the installed printer on the laptop. Reboot. Make sure there are no "ghost" version left. I have had to delete a printer a couple of times and reboot before all vestiges were gone.
Use the install disc that came with the printer (or download from the printer manufacturers site) and re-install. - AllegroDNomadHave you gone to the Kodak site and see if there is a specific driver you are missing?
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIHappens to me often. The computer will often say "Printer in use by another comptuer" only there is no other computer...
Strangly this AM it worked perfectly (That is actually rare)
Printer is a canon.
This computer is a Chrome book, can not use the printer direct
Computer underneath it is a Windows 10.. Chromebook "Prints" to the Win-10 which then prints via Wi-Fi to the canon.
And it worked>!!!!!!
(Must be a lucky day.. Yesterday not so lucky but thankfully minor. Sheared a bolt, not the first time and it's easier to fix thanks to some mods I did). - Bob_VaughnExplorerI am sorry I should have stated it is a Mac Book Pro laptop, and Air Port Extreme wifi, and a Kodak all in one wifi enabled printer....
- We have a similar setup. Have four laptops to connect via wifi to the printer. All work and print. When we get a new laptop, everything has been seamless. Just look for the printer on the new machine and we're in business. . . UNTIL, DH got his new Windows10 laptop. It will not connect . . . period. We have tried EVERYTHING we know to do. . . it will not connect. Every other laptop connects and prints but the Win10 will not. He even tried connecting directly via cable to the printer, no go. So we took the small printer out of our little motorhome that sits in storage and put it next to his station. He connects directly and can print. We still want to figure out the other, but for now, he is back in business. Searching the net indicates that it's a Win10 problem.
Dale - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIHas this setup ever worked or are you trying to get it setup for the first time? Are you using the HP Print and Scan app? (Windows PC) Have you verified in the router that your printer is properly connecting?
I have used a wireless HP printer for years without issue and there certainly is a fix if you are having issues. - YC_1NomadI fought my last one until it finally took a dive out the front door.
Told my wife, "need a new printer dear". The new one works great. - ricklord2001Explorer

First, reboot. Which means turn everything off and start over again.
This happens to me every now and then. Do the above to both the comp and printer. - tinstartrvlrExplorerJust had the same issue with my HP printer, although it was connected by USB. Nothing I could do would make the connection. Had to reinstall the printer and problem went away.
- missnmountainsExplorerWas the printer connected directly to the laptop at some time? If it was setup that way it cannot talk to it. Just delete the printer from the laptop and reset it up.
You could also re configure it as an IP printer.
Your laptop needs to know it is printer to an IP printer not one connected directly to the computer.
