Will an A/B switch work in reverse?

yes...it will
many years back helped my brother we designed a multi input/output switching arrangement
2 VCR's, cable TV input, antenna input, two TV's
by setting the switches in the correct combination any signal could be watched on either TV, any signal could be recorded, while the other was watched
or any signal sent to both tv's ..etc..
all done with a bunch of A/B switches (numbered)
and a chart detailing how too set the switches
he used it for many years, until he dismantled his video wall, when remodeling the LR of this house
