Will an A/B switch work in reverse?

I have a single coax line running into my motorhome, which is usually used for satellite. Occasionally, when in an RV park with cable, I will hook up to that rather than setting up the satellite, but then I have to transfer the coax from the Satellite In connection on my control box to the Cable In connection. Can I use an A/B switch in reverse--i.e., a single coax in and two out, one to satellite and one to cable, throwing the switch depending on which I want to use? Thanks in advance.

  • I needed to run sat. to my office TV and garage TV. I only had one more outlet on my dish. I use a switchable splitter (A/B if you wish) and ran the cable from the dish to the single OUT of the splitter and ran one IN to one receiver box and the other IN to the other receiver box. Then I just select which TV I am going to watch. Dont know why that wont work for your use.
