Windows 7 -- Clip+ -- Audiobook Volume

I have a number of MP3 Audiobooks on my windows 7 computer. I transfer a few at a time to my Scandisk Clip+ to listen to. The problem is than in my old age I am having problem hearing the books with the maximum volume of the Clip+

Is there a good program that will allow me to using my computer increase the volume of the audiobooks before I transfer them to my Clip+? A program that does a batch increase of volume would be ideal. I have tried a program that "normalizes" the volume but it does not increase the volume.
  • Whenever I complain about not being able to hear something my wife tells me to use my hearing aids.
  • I would think not, but it's certainly could be possible.

My solution was to buy an amplifier for the headphones/earbuds since there wasn't enough oomph in the Clip to power headphones/earbuds at a high enough level. I bought mine from Lucid Labs. It works great. I use mine to listen to audiobooks while stationary rowing on my Concept2 rower. Hearing aids are not an option in this circumstance, but I do use them otherwise.

Audacity (which is free) can amplify volume. Also you can load multiple tracks via the import function then export (save) each amplified track.

    Audacity download
  • "Audacity"

its free, it will increase audio level
and i think it has a batch function
  • A much simpler free program is MP3gain . I do exactly what you do and have for many years. I also use it for podcasts, radio shows, and music. Since it is a drop and drag, I do 100 or 200 files at a time.
