Winegard Garbage

I posted a few days ago about my Winegard Travler failure. Im back to let everybody interested in adding a Travler, DON`T! While some folks seem to get decent life out of them, I have had two major failures, Winegard has been lacking in customer service and totally refuse to sell parts. They insist you remove the thing from your RV, box it up and spend a hundred dollars shipping it back to them, charge you to "repair" it, and charge you again to ship it back. Then you again have to figure out how to get it back up on the roof. All the while hoping that it was actually fixed. No Thanks Winegard!

Actually their parts support is very good. Unlike Winegard, they offer individual parts replacement and technical diagnosis assistance to the owner. Also RF Mogul has a number of dealers around the country to perform repairs both warranty and non-warranty.

The only problem with their unit is the price, about $800 more than a Trav'ler.

    Thanks, that's good to see...

  • I had the same issue with a brand new tailgater satellite. After three months I stopped being able to get a signal, it just ran and ran but didnt lock on. After getting connected to King Company they told me to open the case(it would still be covered under warranty. Then they had me check the movement. It had a bad motor for one of the adjustments. I sent it back to the factory and they sent me a new unit. That was three years ago and no more issues. I guess having one on the roof and removing it over and over would be a pain....hope they get you one that works right!
  • Mines been on the roof for close to 5 years (guess) now, no issues. Too bad you are having a bad experience.

  • Sorry to hear about your problems. I guess even the best stuff can have lemons along the way.
