I believe you can manually select a single satellite. Might be worth checking the manual and have it find the 101 bird to see how long it takes to acquire.
Again, the slightest tweak of the reflector or lnb arm will drive you crazy. One way to test the theory is to gently twist and turn the dish by hand once it is locked on and have someone report the signal strength. I mean very gentle twisting and turning. Not enough to tweak it. If you find this helps you may then give it a very gentle tweak.
