I believe you can manually select a single satellite. Might be worth checking the manual and have it find the 101 bird to see how long it takes to acquire.---
I've not located any user manual which describes the how to manually control the dish. I assume it has something to do with the "select" and "enter" buttons on the control box.
This is all I find in the documentation I received:
User Menu for Manual Operation
The interface includes a user menu for some advanced features. The options most commonly used are the ability to change the dish type, check software/hardware versions, change desired satellite configuration, or manually move the dish.
WARNING Improper use of the user menu could cause damage to the TRAV’LER antenna and/or vehicle. Do not enter the user menu for regular operation.
Again, the slightest tweak of the reflector or lnb arm will drive you crazy. One way to test the theory is to gently twist and turn the dish by hand once it is locked on and have someone report the signal strength. I mean very gentle twisting and turning. Not enough to tweak it. If you find this helps you may then give it a very gentle tweak. My system shows a signal strength of 96 for 101W after locking on.
The dish has a couple degrees of "play", both in azimuth and elevation.
Moving the dish within the extreme play limits for elevation caused the signal strength to vary between 96 and 95.
Moving through the extreme play limits for azimuth changed the SS to vary between 96 and 85.
I forgot to check the skew play. I'll do that tomorrow.
