Depending on what receiver you have it should work fine. You may just need to learn which set up changes need to be made when switching. Once you figure this out, swapping out should only take a few minutes. Keep in mind that the G2 will only receive standard definition channels for DirecTV. You will need to probably change the dish type in your menu and standard def in your channel setup. Chuck
