wireless Home Phone

My concern w/ these home-base cellulars vs a landline is talk quality.

When I use a cell ph and talk to another cell ph user, there are all sorts of interruptions when both try and talk at once. Normal conversation is hampered.

When at least one is a landline, it is not quite as bad.

Maybe MJ or similar VOIPs are clearer ?

OTOH, I also wonder if the cell reception indoors with units like the OP mentions isn’t radically superior to a regular mobile phone because of it being amplified w/ big power from elec line.

Been without a land line for two years. Take the money you will save and send it to me. Just use your cell phones.

You might consider the Straight Talk Home Phone system, $15.00/mo. Uses the Verizon cell tower system. We use it in our home and we take it with us in our rv.

How is call quality xompared to old landline esp when talking to another cell?

The quality is as good as my old land line was. Wal Mart carries these, they have a plan for unlimited international calling if you are into that. Give me a call at 719-426-0174, you can hear the quality for yourself. People don't know whether I am at home or off in the rv either.
Actually I am using my old wireless phones from home, the base and answering machine just plug into the back of the home phone base unit.

Just remember, no service is going to offer high voice quality if the net connection is not suitable for VoIP. So it pays to check, or at least select a service that offer a refund period. At least for the hardware.

We dumped our landline years ago. The only calls we ever got were robo dials from politicians and the local school concerning attendance issues. Cells phone work great and will auto switch to VOIP as soon as we walk into the house. Our cell numbers are paired with our local address for 911 support plus our service provider has gotten the towers back on line after a storm much faster then the land line folks.

We have the Verizon wireless home phone system. We love it. I can not hear as well as I could on the land line but we are on the road over six months a year and we don't miss a call. We have been camping in remote areas where cell phones don't work but our Verizon works as it is 5 watts. Your cell phones are only about a half a watt.

watts of antenna amplicication?? whatever it is, sounds great for RVing!

I believe that transmit power would violate FCC rules which limits output power through the antenna to 1 watt.
