Word Processing Program for iPads

Here's another vote for Pages.

My wife uses Pages.

You could use Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. Both are free and both can create and edit docs, spreadsheets and presentations. All accessible via your browser.

The nice thing about using these on-line apps is that you can also access your files from any other device with a browser such as a PC, Mac, iPhone, etc... with no need to transfer files back and forth.

I use Microsoft Office 365. Works great and then compatible with almost every document I receive or send. I believe they have just Word also.

Pages for IPad is a free download from iTunes. Microsoft just released a version of word for IPad.

I use "pages" on my iPad which is the regular Mac word processing contained in iWork..
