1995 fleetwood westport questions

I've been saving money for a while to buy my first fifth wheel and I plan to live in it for some time while I figure out a more permanent home. I found a 1995 Fleetwood Westport for a good price, but I'm having trouble finding any information on them. First question is it is a four season camper. To be more specific will I be able to live in it at temperatures near zero, I live in western Montana and our winters tend to be pretty cold. Second question is where can I find an owners manual to look at specific details.

We'll do that as well when we start working on uncle's 2000 Fleetwood project.
  • Lets answer the easy one first. There really is no owners manual for rv's. The manuals were and are very generic in nature as the mfg. wanted to beable to use one manual for many different units.

With that said your best bet is to get the model number of each item i.e. the stove, frig. etc. Then go to that companys web site and get the info. You may be able to get some info from Fleetwood, but like I stated if would be very little.

Lets talk Montana winters! No that unit nor any unit is made to withstand winter temperatures. To even think of making it work you will fist off need to find a place to park your unit that has water, sewer and electric. Water will have to have electric heat tape from source to where it enters unit. You will have to wrap your sewer line in insulation and heat tape. Once done with that you will have to wrap the sides of the trailer so as little air can get between it and the ground. I have seen people use bails of hay, plastic sheeting, foam insulation that type of thing. Plan on using alot of propane to run the rv furnace.

These units are just not made for that cold of weather. Good Luck
