- wanderingbobExplorer IIAn easy way to remove the hitch from truck is to leave hitched to the trailer , pull the pins , let the trailer jacks lift the hitch ! Then leave it hanging or carry it away !
- mileshuffExplorerGet the super rails which mount under the bed. When you remove the hitch the bed is completely clear.

They will need the hitch for setting the rails an d checking at finish. Although 5er hitches are fairly standard, if they don't have the hitch and they are an 1/8 of an inch off you will have a devil of a time attaching/removing it so give them the whole thing and hope they are as good as they claim
That is great news! Going to save me a lot of money.
Thank you! - 2112Explorer III used to remove mine after every trip but that got old. I installed a chain hoist in my shop just for that purpose and haven't used it in about 2 years.
I have replaced my SGlide with a lighter Reese. When I had the SG I had to put a bungee cord on the head to keep it from slamming around. - lovetotowExplorerSorry forgot other question, removing the hitch is an option depending on if you need the truck bed and how often. I generally put mine in in April and leave it till October unless I need the bed. My buddy takes his out after every trip, note the rails once installed are permanent.
