A rookie question on 5th wheel hitches and installation

An easy way to remove the hitch from truck is to leave hitched to the trailer , pull the pins , let the trailer jacks lift the hitch ! Then leave it hanging or carry it away !

Get the super rails which mount under the bed. When you remove the hitch the bed is completely clear.

I used to remove mine after every trip but that got old. I installed a chain hoist in my shop just for that purpose and haven't used it in about 2 years.

I have replaced my SGlide with a lighter Reese. When I had the SG I had to put a bungee cord on the head to keep it from slamming around.

Sorry forgot other question, removing the hitch is an option depending on if you need the truck bed and how often. I generally put mine in in April and leave it till October unless I need the bed. My buddy takes his out after every trip, note the rails once installed are permanent.
