Are all "Slide Outs" created equally? What to look for

While we were in our camp host spot there were two different RVs with slide failures. First one was a Swank (sic) system. Took about 6 people 8 hours to get it closed. Second one was a one month old Landmark. Took a mobile tech about two hours to fix that one. Personslly we have never had a problem with my hydraulic slides. I have read some horror stories about inadequate motors on electric slide systems.
