Yes, I would think so.
Personally, I would stay away from hydraulic systems. It's not that they're bad in principle, it's that you cannot build hyd. stuff cheap and that's what causes all the issues. I've read about far more problems here with those than anything else.
Most slides are electric rack and pinion these days because it has been made very robust over the years. The new Schintek system has also been upgraded many times and is dead reliable NOW but that wasn't the case a couple of years ago. I would avoid that system in an older trailer if it only has a track on the bottom sides of the slide. New versions have tracks both high and low.
