Auto locking refrigerator?

The I-96 Closure I am aware of is in Detroit, Do you need routing around it? I do not know where you are headed but if headed to I-75 south take I-97 to I-275 south and pick up I-75 down by Monroe.

There is an outlet mall down there,, Plus a truck stop or two closer to the state line you can overnight at if you wish.

If you are talking about the closure I know of you will avoid it 100%. Anything west of Wayne and Oakland Counties,,,, Alas I do not know about.

I remember reading once that a State passed a law requiring all 5 gallon buckets to have a hole in the bottom because a toddler fell in to one and drowned.

Some people need others to tell them what's safe, I think I'm capable of making my own decisions. When I see a stop sign that should be a yield sign, I drive right through it because I'm not driving unsafe. I've had my share of tickets and I've had my share of LEOs with the common sense to let me go. it's a price I'm willing to pay.

I do appreciate the info though because it supports my plea for common sense. No where in that law does it say that the passenger can't watch tv. It specifically refers to "images intended to be visible to the driver. At least in my state thankfully, I will not have to worry. Thank you NH, Live free or die!

You best get use to doing what your told to do. Good many LEOs out there just waiting to meet up with you. Most states have "laws" that say you cannot watch TV while you going down the road. If you want a weather update, pull into a rest area and turn it on. In your own home state:

EQUIPMENT OF VEHICLES

Equipment Prohibited

Section 266:75

266:75 Image Display Device. –
I. In this section, "image display device'' means equipment capable of displaying rapidly changing images as follows:
(a) A broadcast television image or similar entertainment content transmitted by other wireless means to the equipment; or
(b) A dynamic visual image, other than text, from a digital video disc or other storage device.
II. Except as provided in paragraph IV, no person shall drive a motor vehicle while viewing a broadcast television image or a visual image from an image display device when the vehicle is in motion on a way.
III. Except as provided in paragraph IV, no person shall drive a motor vehicle with an image display device intended to be visible to the driver in a normal driving position when the vehicle is in motion and when restrained by the vehicle seat belts adjusted in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
IV. Paragraphs II and III shall not apply to:
(a) Emergency vehicles.
(b) Image display devices that are displaying images that provide the driver with navigation and related traffic, road, and weather information.
(c) Image display devices providing vehicle information, controls, or information related to the driving task.
(d) Image display devices used to enhance or supplement the driver's view forward, behind, or to the sides of the motor vehicle.
(e) Image display devices that permit the driver to monitor vehicle occupants seated rearward of the driver.
(f) Image display devices that do not display images to the driver while the vehicle is in motion.

(h) Any image display device for displaying information intended to enhance traffic awareness.
(i) Image display devices that permit the driver to monitor horses or livestock in a vehicle intended to carry horses or livestock, or in a trailer being towed by the vehicle.

I don't expect to watch a lot of TV going down the road either, what I object to is being told I can't. What if I'm in place I've never been before and a threatening sky looms. Wouldn't it be nice if my wife could locate a local station to get an update?

I've never heard of an auto locking refrigerator, and I don't understand why folks are upset 'cause the TV won't come on when the ignition is on, is it really that important to watch TV while going down the road? Mine won't come on anyways, as I don't have an inverter & I don't run the generator going down the road.

Never have heard of such a thing.. My Dometic has a mechinical LATCH that automatically "Locks" it when I close the door.. but you just push the latch release button.

No ignition interlock of any kind on the fridge.

Ignition interlocks on:
The Television (IG on TV off)

Steps: IG on, "Override" off so step follows door if it feels like it

Awning: Likewise it is supposed to auto retract to prevent a Robin Williams, alas, does not work that way

Jacks: Will not EXTEND with ignition OFF and should auto-retract if parking brake released or taken out of PARK with ignition ON. (That too has failed, but that's another story)

Also on the house/dash radios.. Ignition on (or Acc) the DASH radio is connected to the speakers... Else, it's the house radio/home theater.

That interlock drove me crazy for about 2 years... Turns out one of the connections (Dash) had not been properly connected so the radio would cut out when I hit a bump.. After searching and searching I finally pressed on a MOLEX connector on the relay box.. heard a CLICK (As the lock tabs latched home) and ... Suddenly it works properly.

The only model of Dometic I'm aware of that DOES have auto lock/rv ignition key activated is the Elite 2+2.

Turn RV ignition key to start/run position and the fridge doors will automatically lock.........but you can manually unlock by sliding latch lever.
It will relock when you close doors if RV is still on.
