Best RV Queen Mattress

I fear I might open a can of worms here ;-) but do you guys have any recommendations for a good RV Queen Size mattress. I know we are all different, bit for instance I have had a lot of luck over the years with Sealy mattresses when not in my travel trailer. Now we are living full time in it, this feels like something worth getting right...
  • I need a new mattress also and am checking out other threads. But I dodn't want to sleep like a baby, they wind up crying all night and wind up pooping themselves.
  • We looked all over at options. DW finally said, hey the sleeper sofa we have at home has a really comfortable air over coil spring mattress, that's why we bought it. Hummmm. so I did some searching. Yes, you can buy just the mattress, and the "Queen XL" is actually a "short Queen" or "RV queen".

We bought one and love it. It's made by Leggett and Platt called an "air dream". IMHO it's just as comfortable as our expensive S&B mattress

  • Have the local mattress factory custom make your mattress. All kinds of mattress factories out there manufacturing excellent mattresses at lower than brand name costs. They will make what ever size you want. They will deliver and take the old one away at no extra cost. Just check your local yellow pages.
  • Here is a whole line up of short queen mattresses

  • I have a Trump pillow top Queen size in my 5er. It is more comfortable than any bed I have slept on. You can now get them at any furniture store.

My son who uses my 5er likes it better than their bed at home and is thinking of getting one for their bed.

  • I have a King size bed in our trailer. Looking to get a better one (72 x 80). Silly question but how do I fit this in through the door way if I purchase a regular home style mattress. I can't see it folding in half like a foam mattress.
  • When we bought our first trailer, a Jayco Jayflight, I found a mattress manufacturer in the yellow pages. They made a actual residential mattress for us, to the specific measurements and firmness that we gave them. I remember it didn't bend like the RV mattress, so it was a little tricky getting it to the bedroom, but the effort was well worth it. On top of that, I advertised the RV mattress and sold it for half what the new one cost.
