Queen Mattress

Years ago I replaced the mattress in our 2000 Hurricane and bought a "bed in a box" off the Internet. Comes in a box and it unrolls itself ( extremely quickly ). It was actually the best sleeping bed we had. great return policy.

Our memory foam mattress at home was close to 7 yrs old. We decided to upgrade our mattress at home, and use the old one in the RV.

BTW. The old one is a "bed in a box" mattress. Might not be the highest quality, but is quite comfortable.

When we were looking, we noticed the RV mattresses were more $ then the standard length. That's one reason we decided to upgrade the home mattress. I used a electric knife to trim the old mattress to RV length.

We simply bought the exact same mattress we have at home. In fact we bought them the same day.

Memory foam USED to be a warm sleep - nice in the winter. But today's memory foam has cool gel layers so the heat doesn't build up like it did in the old ones. We have a 3" one on the rv mattress and it's very comfortable. If you decide to try one, quality is important. The topper should be heavy if it's a good one. We had our first one for 20 yrs, now the current one for 2 yrs. Spent less than $100 on the one we have now as we got it on sale.

Love my memory foam and do not find it a warm sleep at all.

Stay away from mattress stores - 200 - 400% markups are not uncommon. As mentioned, Amazon and the big box stores are your friends.

As for memory foam being warm, that may be true for a 100% memory foam mattress, but very few are made that way any more (Tempurpedic and a couple of others, maybe). We have a 10" full queen triple foam mattress we love. The bottom layer is memory foam (most of the thickness), then there are a couple of inches of support foam, topped by 1/2" (I think) of cool-gel foam. It's very comfy in both hot and cold weather and is GREAT for my bad back. Oh... and we paid less than $500 for it. Our son has had a similar experience with a similar mattress he purchased at Costco.

We bought a king a couple years ago. Love it. Had a Temperpedic before, hated it. The Casper has a layer of memory foam below the top foam layer and because of that (I guess) it does not sleep warm like our other one. My Mom, daughter and 3 of our friends have purchased and all love it.

We bought one at a local RV furniture dealer. I can't find the receipt. It was around $200-$250. I'm 100% sure it was made in USA, mostly sure in TX. I think from Corsicana Mattress. The price was very reasonable and it's tons more comfortable than the original ever was.
