Your 1500 will probably tow about 50% of the 5er's out there. You'd have to do your research.
If you buy a motorhome, you probably are going overboard by towing the 1500 behind the MH. So you'd probably ditch the 1500 for something a lot smaller. Be aware, not all cars can be flat towed. A lot of people like MH plus a toad, but to me, then you have two vehicle drive trains to maintain, insure, etc.
Buying used and using it for a few years will help you decide down the road what you want and what you can do without; and buy new then.
