Campgrounds

Could someone please tell me what "Full Hook-up" at a campground means. I think I know, but not sure. And when they have sewer service, does that means that there are not sewer connections at the camp sites. Any info appreciated.
  • Mickeyfan0805: Thank you for info(and others). Will be heading your way soon. Wife wants to see Maine.
  • I think it's been covered, but for clarity, a FHU site will always mean you have water, electric and sewer. That fact that a campground has sewer service simply means that some sites don't have sewer, but others likely will. RVparkreviews.com is very helpful in this way. They have a listing for the campgrounds that shows, at a glance, whether they have sewer, 30a, 50a, etc... I find this to be very useful in planning.
  • As mentioned above all the parks I have gone to have Electric, Water and Sewer. Some even have nice heated showers and bathrooms.
  • The RV parks we go to offer Electric, Water, Sewer, and Cable TV in their "Full Hookup" package.

  • Full hook up "FHU" 99.9% of the time means water, electric sewer. if they say sewer service, that usually means they have a "honey wagon" where the guys comes around and pumps out your tanks. dump station means just that a place to dump your tanks.
  • Full hook up generally means electric, water and sewer. Most likely at least some of the sites do not have access to a sewer, and the campground may have a dump station or sewer service.
