Can we tow safetly with Sequoia?

We purchased our first TT which is a 2011 Micro Lite 23LB. Our TV is a 2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4x4 with tow package. The TT is still in storage so we have not tried to tow it yet and not sure how the Sequoia will do. The TT specs are GVWR 4927, length is 23'9", Base weight 3756 and hitch weight 527.

OP asked "Can we tow safely with Sequoia?"
  • I'm not sure what the payload capacity of our specific vehicle is but when I did a search online, it said somewhere between 1300-1400. We usually travel very light so the only thing we would have inside the vehicle would be passengers and a dog. I'm thinking total weight would be around 500 pounds max. The Sequoia is a V8.

  • Based on the dry trailer and hitch weight you could hit tongue weights of 690 lbs. What is the payload capacity of the Sequoia? How many passesngers and how much gear is expected in the vehicle?
