- pugslyyyExplorerThat's a nice compact RV, congrats. I also see that it comes standard with 2 AGM batteries for the house, should be a lot of juice.
Are you sure that everything is connected correctly? On the spec sheet is notes that there is a "COACH BATTERY DISCONNECT" - rvitExplorerAnd thank you by the way, I am learning so much from all of you.
- rvitExplorerOk, more specific then. It's a 2014 Pleasure way Pursuit with modern features like LED lighting. I would hope that it has good wiring(considering the astronomical price).
It is our first RV and my wife is going to sit in the back and play house while I drive. She doesn't have a "conservation" bone in her body so how much trouble am I in? - Jim_ShoeExplorerDepends on what you mean by coach batteries. On my 'C', the coach (engine) battery is charged by the alternator when rolling down the road. The 'house' battery is charged when I plug into 30A at a campground. The only thing that uses the house battery while moving is the reefer, unless passengers are watching TV or using the microwave. In that case, which is rare since I'm single, I fire up the generator while moving to top off the battery. It uses the same gas as the 'C', but shuts off at a quarter tank.
- eHoeflerExplorer IIYes. Most only have a 30 amp charge line. It depends on what is left on in the coach. Lights can be a large draw if a bunch of them are left on.
- WrongWayRandallExplorerIf your wiring is too small gauge leading from the front to the batteries, the battery terminals are dirty, or you have things drawing off the house batteries while towing it is possible to use more than you replace while towing (or a combination of these conditions.) It's not a common issue, at least as far as I've seen, but it certainly could happen in the right circumstances. Are you fighting this issue now?
