X-2, after sitting for 5 years unused, I'm pretty certain, that the seal will be dried out. Mine dries out in a much shorter time,(like over the winter).
While at home, Put some water in the bowl & see how long it stays there, if it does stay, we'll all be amazed, if it doesn't, just put on a rubber glove, get some vegetable oil, or Crisco , while holding the flush valve open, generously,rub it on the seal. Then start over, more water, see if it holds, I do mine every year.
I learned not to use WD40 or Vasilene, as they are petroleum based & not good for the rubber seal.
