That being the case it's the campground owner's responsibility to supply two outlets on each spigot, one for each of the two adjoining campsites. Although I don't use our trailer's city water inlet I will draw from a nearby tap if it's handy to fill the trailer's fresh water holding tank and for that purpose I have a number of water fittings on hand just in case I need them, including a Y like this.![]()
In the OP's case he made a reasonable effort to address the issue by first knocking on his neighbour's trailer door, but finding no one home I'd have disconnected his hose, installed this Y, reconnected the neighbour's hose to one leg and my own hose to the other - in other words doing what the campground owner should have done in the first place by providing two outlets on every spigot.
