With all the comments about jackknife sofas being uncomfortable, we must have gotten really lucky with our Allegro. That jackknife was great. Now we have an inflatable pull out couch that I don't find very comfortable.
I agree (depending on age) your son will more than likely be tickled pink just to have his own little space, especially when it's somewhere cool like the overhead bunk.
I also recommend installing a fan for air circulation. And I also mounted an LED reading light 12V LED light for our daughter, and she thought it was the coolest thing in the world. We could send her to bed, have her pull the privacy curtain and she could read until she felt tired (as you know when camping that doesn't take very long), while the adults could continue to visit with each other.
