I've been running a dash cam in the RV for 3 years and one in my commuter for a bit over a year. In the RV I have caught an accident that nearly collected me and idiots at Yellowstone posing with bison. In my commuter just a week ago I recorded what nearly turned into me getting int a head on with a wrong way driver. I have an A118-C in my commuter and just bought one for my wife's car too. Very compact and unobtrusive. Sticks to windshield behind the mirror on a car. Under $100 at Amazon.
Link to Review of A118The "C" version uses a capacitor rather than a battery for it's backup power. Should be more reliable.
One thing I did notice with the (not an A118-C) dash cam in the RV, is originally I had it mounted in the center of the windshield. The problem is it apparently generated enough RF noise that the GPS couldn't get a satellite lock. I moved the dash cam to the side of the windshield and problem solved.
