Travel Trailers vary a lot in how easy they are to pull. I myself am a bit partial to Sunlines for how well they tow but they went out of business in 2007 or so so can't get a new one. A suburban or even better the Escalade version of the suburban (Because they come with the 6.0 engine standard) would make a good tow vehicle for a medium size trailer. A large passenger van with the Ford V10 or obviously a 3/4 ton or higher truck would make a great vehicle for a large trailer.
At one time, we had a huge 34' Keystone TT with bunkhouse and a slide. It was as tall as some class A MHs and I hated pulling it even with our 1 Ton Dually and proper hitch setup. It sure was nice when we got there but I was starting to get anxiety whenever we had a trip coming up. We sold it and got another Sunline and I was back to enjoying the drive again. Backing up really sucks sometimes but somehow we all manage to get it done even if it taxes a marriage a bit momentarily hahah. You can also get pull through spots at a lot of campgrounds.
Cruise America.... Like others have said, they are huge. The upside is that you can get service a lot easier if something happens along the way than from a small rental house. The downside is that they sling a lot of rentals. There is no way they will take the same amount of care (if any) of their fleet as someone whole is independent and only has a few vehicles.
When I am looking at reviews, I look for trends in the negative reviews. Cruise America seems to have some strong trends and they are (as far as I can tell) poorly maintained Motor Homes and nickel-and-diming pricing policies. If I were renting an RV, I would personally look at local places and inquire what their provisions are for breakdowns on the road. I would stay far away from Cruise America but that is just my opinion.
