Extended warranty

We are about to take delivery of our Reflection 303, and we were wondering if there are any recommendations and experiences with extended warranties. These contracts are pretty expensive and I am concerned that they may be a waste of $$$$.
  • the owners of the companies live high on the hog with your money. haven't you ever seen some of the news reports of them and their big million dollars homes?
  • I would really be interested in the details of the tire service contract. What brand name are they?
  • We have been RVing since 1969 with everything from TT & popup to the current Class A. They have been both new and used. In all these years we have never had a problem that would have been covered by an extended service contract. With all the money saved I could buy many tanks of gas to enjoy travelling more.
  • We have never believed in extended warranty's but we got one this time. Yes it was expensive but we realized there is a lot more technology in these coaches today and I have looked at the cost of replacing the items in question and the cost is huge. The warranty that we got includes the tires. We feel that it at least gives us piece of mind and we know that we will incur no expenses in the next 6 years. Yes it was probably a waste of money but we really don't know at this point. We will let you know in 6 years LOL
  • I don't think it's EVER a good idea to "double warranty" any product. If you need extended insurance service make the decision AFTER the factory warranty is used up and you have an idea of how reliable your RV actually is. During the factory warranty period you're paying for service you simply will not be using since they won't BOTH pay you for an issue.

My opinion: They are a waste of money.

First: your new rig will have warranties in place for the first year or two so you would be spending $$$ for coverage when you are already covered.

Second: WAY too much fine print, WAY too many "not covered" clauses.

Third: very strict stipulations that must be followed to the letter in order to get re-reimbursed.

Lots and lots of "outs" for the company to use in order to deny coverage..."coverage denied," "not covered," etc.

Only partial coverage and big deductible for expensive repairs.

These are big money makers for the dealer. That's why they push them so hard and use "scare" tactics to sell them.
Ya and this right after they just told you that you just bought the best RV in the world.
