Someone with years of experience in towing will be more likely to understand how to react when that tire blows. A towing newbie in that situation is very scary.
Yet here 3 of you are talking about tires blowing out, presumably with no knowledge that even the lowest rated tires you could likely drive off the new car lot with on a well equipped half ton pickup would easily handle 2500+ lbs of rear axle payload before reaching their rating.
And being a 2012, maybe the appropriate question is “Wwhat tires you running?” , not blathering about a component that is easily figured out as not being the weak part of the gvws equation. It’s not even the weak part of the rawr equation.
