I think I paid $25 for non resident ga freshwater 3 day license...and never used it :( earlier this year.
I don't mind paying for the license, keep it legal and it does help preserve for future generations.

Last trip up the California coast I found out that you can fish for free from the piers and other man made structures.

went to the MN site, and 24 hour $9.50, 72 hour 25$, 7 day 29.50.
I can see why years back I decided not to fish one afternoon.

Most states will allow you to purchase a temporary licenses online. Here, in SC, you can get a non-resident 14 day for $11. Each state will vary and it may depend on how long you are in that state.

Good luck with that I have some warden friends that are sneaky. The Green River in Wy is fishing well. Caught a 21 in brown last weekend.

I never get a license , if the warden walks up I am gonna hand the rod to my wife ! Ain't no such thing as a nice ' chain gang '.

I usually find a campground with a private lake or pond. Odds are if it is moving water i.e. a creek, or if the lake/pond is accessable from outside the campground, you will need a license. It probably depends on the state as to whether you need a license in these cases. Any State park in PA you will need a license.

We usually stay for over 3 months in a state as hosts so it makes sense to me to get a permit.
But if I were just passing thru,,?? Ask the local sporting good store.

Here is the Regulations for fishing in Texas.

For persons fishing in public water from private property, a fishing license is required.
that is sort of different. in VA property owner's can fish from their property without a license. problem is on Gaston one does not "own" the land up to the high water mark or something like that so you might have an awfully long cast depending on the slope of your property.

Well you are not going to want to fish in NY,just looked it up,$35.00 for 7 days, $10.00 for single day non resident!
