As long as you stay with such short trips you're OK as long as you don't have any serious swaying issues and the like. I had a 78 F-100 for years and towed everything with it until about 78K miles. Then a friend talked me into selling it to him so I had to get another one and I immediately bought a really nice USED F-150 who can still pull everything I've got.
