Gearing up?

Bring as little as possible. For convenience items make sure you need it three times before you buy and carry. I actually prefer to accumulate along the road. That way everything has a story.

You forgot the first aid kit, including bug spray, sunscreen, calamine, etc.

So, using the original premise of an empty trailer Here is my list.

Lets start with what you need for the outside:
Keys for all locks.
proper hitch.
pin to hold the hitch down
Propane tanks - full
battery - charged
adjustable wrench for propane connections
tire pressure gauge
tire iron and jack
hook for pulling out the tail on the awning.
water hose
standard plug to trailer plug adapter
leveling jack plates

Inside
Clothes
Food

linen, including:
bedding
wash and dry rags for dishes

Toilet paper
paper towel
cleaners for floors, surfaces, bathroom, toilet, windows
Dish soap
broom and dustpan
mop and mop bucket

Pots, pans, dishes, utensils

Actual camping stuff:
Small BBQ
matches
bbq lighter
fire starter


Tools
Besides the listed ones, I always have my multi tool.
Any suggestions on tools would be great.

Anything not listed that I need?
Anything not listed I should have?

(I have credit cards ready as needed)

For tools, I have pretty much what JimK-NY has. I also have a jumper box (actually 2 now - one I use for charging phones, kindle, laptop, etc.)

Other than that:

a basic first aid kit. Add in a couple ACE bandages, tick tweezers, bottle of rubbing alcohol and peroxide.

A couple lanterns and flashlights, water pitcher or bucket - if your batteries die, you can keep on camping with these items on hand; just use the campground water (if you're boondocking, this won't necessarily work - in that case, having a water filtration system might be a good addition) by way of the water pitcher to cook, flush, wash, etc.

Small barbeque or campstove or fire grill - if your propane system dies, you can keep on camping by cooking outdoors.

Soft-sided cooler - if your fridge dies, you can just go get ice and keep on camping.

A credit card and some cash on hand is good to have also. If you need help, you might not get it from someone who can take a credit card - so having some cash is good. I once ended up paying an independent tow truck driver by using my credit card to put the money directly on his kids' school tuition bill:

Bringing your imagination is number one. It's amazing how you can make things work in a fix with a little of that.

Most of us carry 10 times the tools, hardware and spare parts that we will ever need. I am now down to a kit half the size of a shoe box: hammer, pliers, wrenches, screw driver, wire, glue, duct tape, fuses and an few miscellaneous screws and bolts. I also recommend a small air compressor and a tire patch kit.

Duct tape......

Full fresh water tank. Empty waste water tanks. Adequate batteries. Adequate solar system.

good sewer hose
good fresh water hose
rug for inside the door
rug for outside the door
enough towels, washcloths, and underwear to not run out
aim-a-flame type lighter for when the stove burner sparkers don't work
some pre-made meals that are easy to heat up
whatever entertainment you like for a rainy day
a couple of cans of flat-fixer
one of those square head screwdrivers for tightening up things
scissors and a box cutter for opening stuff you pick up at WM
a notepad and pen for making a list of things you want to pick up
$1 bills for self-serve campsite fees
