Going to re-seal my roof ?

Hello,

I have decided that I would like to add another seal of dicor self leveling lap seal on all the seams on my roof.

I think it will give me a good piece of mind to stop worrying about leaks when I'm not there.

My camper is 22ft long. I have two skylights, an ac unit, and not sure what else, maybe an antenna.

Any rough idea how many tubes I should buy ? Any tips or pointers ?

Also, do I need to seal where the roof meets the side of the camper ? Do I use non sag dicor for that?

Any advice ? Is is a good idea ? My camper is 10 years old and currently has no leaks.

I have an EPDM roof.
  • I've got a suggestion, take it for what its worth... Buy a 50' roll of Eternabond tape and tape the seams. It will last a LOT longer if installed correctly.
  • I resealed my fridge and a skylight recently. You can probably figure on using a tube per vent/skylight/fridge on the roof. Of course, I pulled up the old stuff completely and resealed it from scratch. Touch ups will not use that much. If it hasn't been resealed or touched up in a while, I would recommend pulling up all the old stuff. Don't use it on the AC. The AC has a gasket that goes in between the unit and the roof. You probably should look into replacing that gasket as well.
