We had a thrid driveway alongside the garage that was dirt and bark. When we bought our forst MH, we had a concrete one installed. That was 11 years ago.
Last week, the gas company called. They had been inspecting gas meter installations in the neighborhood and had noticed that many of them had the feed pipe into the meter/pressure regulator box encased in the concrete. Apparently, that's not kosher because of the risk of damage to the pipe if there's an earthquake.
I had to move the RV onto the street to give them access to hammer out an annular clearance to put a soft gasket round the pipe. I had to re-start the on-street insurance, just for one day so I could move it!
The guy doing the job said there were more than 100 driveways that had been installed later than the originals put in when the houses were built and inspected, just in our neighborhood, that they had to go and fix.
It took the gas company 11 years to realise they had a problem? Really on the ball, guys!
