If you aren't moving your trailer, then it doesn't need to be registered with the DMV (unless the campground or local zoning ordinances require it). Maybe if you talked to your insurance company about something more akin to homeowner's insurance for the fifth wheel it would simplify things. Or maybe it would only complicate them more—I am not, nor do I have any great burning desire to be, an insurance agent.
