Around my area there are a lot of good gently used Honda gen sets so that's the way I went. The Honda 3000 set I bought cost me $1,250 bucks and only had a few hours on it.
For "me", the overriding ability to remote start a gen set is far and above more important than all of the plusses the 2000 watt units had.
Is it for you? Maybe not. If that's the case you should chose another unit to better fit "your" needs.
Pinellas Power Products offers an electric start option for the EU2000i and I'd presume they'd in time do the same with the new EU2200i. Add a Micro-Air Easy Start Soft Starter Kit to your A/C and there'd be no need at all for a HEAVY 3000 watt genset. ;)
Na, no thanks. The guy that makes this kit even says "This item is intended as a toy".
I'm going to keep my 3000 in the back of my pickup anyway and run it there. No reason to move it in and out of my truck because I have a cap on it anyway. Weight is not that big of a deal for me.
I get to the campground and plug it in and when I need power I will just hit the button when I'm inside of my trailer to get power. Much like people do in their motorhomes with built in gen sets. The cap is insulated so it will kill even more of the noise the unit makes.
BTW Merry Christmas everybody!
