Is it very common for a campground to not have 30A and 15A outlets, only 50A outlets?

Just wondering if I should buy a 30A female to 50A male adapter.
Most definitely.
You can never tell in advance when you might need it - and when you do - it will be hard/impossible to find - and much more expensive than that one. - rockhillmanorExplorer

Nice. Here it is for less than $10.
(I had posted a link to a similar unit for $5, then I edited this note after I compared the reviews. This one has almost nothing negative said about it, the other had several dings. That's worth an extra $5.)
rockhillmanor, would you use that if you already had a Progressive Industries PT30C?
Absolutely! That little tester goes on the outlet before 'anything' from my coach including my surge protector gets plugged into it. Actually it goes on the outlet first before I even do anything else when I pull in. Simply not going to park in a site that has shore station problems. I full time and I find a lot of CG's with electrical outlet problems. Open ground being the most common.
Those that use nothing would never know there is an open ground because your power to the RV will work just fine....until something happens and you or a member of your family become the ground. - SlowBroExplorer IIINice. Here it is for less than $10.

I have found 'numerous' CG's that have an 'open ground' situation. These outlets are used WAY more times than a residential outlet and that is what they use, and they become loose over time and wires not tight inside. They should be using outside commercial outlets which they do not.
And sadly when I bring it to the CG's attention that the outlet has an open ground, many say that it is ok go ahead and plug in. :R
My answer is no 'I' don't want to be the 'ground for the day' and ask to be moved to another site. - jaycocamprsExplorerWe had a brown out on 1 leg of the 50-amp last summer. Cost us a microwave. We now have the Progressive Industries EMS-PT50C. If you do this long enough it will happen.
- Redterpos3ExplorerI'll chime in on the 30amp being loose or hinky, happened this past summer. Glad I had the dogbone! Also, needed the surge protector also, the site I was assigned wasn't wired correctly, needed to have the electrician come out and fix it. He said he's never seen the surge protector I had.

While I waited for the electrician I walked around and tested all the other sites around that weren't occupied, most were correct, just mine and one other. I was actually just checking out which site to tell them to move me too, but this place was busy on the weekends and I was going to be there for 5 weeks, so they really didn't want to put me anywhere else, would've meant a lot of work on their part. The electrician took 45 min waiting; 15 min fixing. All good! - wbwoodExplorerWith your hybrid, I doubt you will be let into a park that is 50 amp only...
- SlowBroExplorer IIIGood info, thanks all!
- rockhillmanorExplorerHaven't been at a 50A only CG but I have pulled into 'many' CG's late at night and all that was open was a big rig pull thru that are usually only 50A. Which is where I use my adapters so I CAN stay for the night!
Carrying ALL the sizes of adapters AND all the various plug reducers and stepup combinations for extension cord use is a must IMHO.
That way you are prepared for every thing that RV'ing down the road can throw at you.....and trust me I have used them all!!:W - Kit_CarsonExplorerI have been to only one park that was 50A only and that was Loretta Lynn's RV Park in Tennessee. If you did not have a dog bone they would rent you one. I had one and that is the only time I have used it.
