how to decide on buying a trailer - the dream vs reality

so the wife and I just can't seem to figure this out. we have 3 kids (11, 8, and 5) and just got back from a trip and rented a trailer. loved it. didn't like the feeling of staying in a rental thou...

Instead of buying new,start shopping for a used trailer. Let someone else take the depreciation hit. Start looking for a 5,000 dollar trailer and pay cash for it. Same for a tow vehicle. Forget a big truck. Full sized vans offer a lot for the dollar. They also make great towing vehicles. You could them with prudent shopping keep your investment to under 20K.
