how to decide on buying a trailer - the dream vs reality

so the wife and I just can't seem to figure this out. we have 3 kids (11, 8, and 5) and just got back from a trip and rented a trailer. loved it. didn't like the feeling of staying in a rental thou...

When the kids were young we made memories in a two room tent, then a $200 pickup camper and a tent. We got a pop-up when we had the money and the kids liked the upgrade. You don't need to spend $1200 a month.
