We have never really looked at the big picture price. We looked at monthly payments and if it fit the budget. We had a popup at first and when it go tough to make plans we went seasonal in a trailer. We were a little over an hour from home so we could go up after the soccer or baseball games or come home for the football or what ever. Bottom line we could camp some part of every weekend May through Oct for 11 years. When the kids were grown we went back to traveling.
I know a lot of people say buy used and if that works then go for it. I on the other hand was brought up with my father saying if you buy anything used you are buying other peoples problems so I send to go new. Also on I side note, when I use the toilet sand pull the black tank for the first time I don't want any issues left behind by others.
