Our weekends are pretty solid also with kids, grandkids, extended family, we are also self-employed which makes it difficult to really go anywhere of great distance. I find myself camping close to home, usually within 30-45 min from home. If there are any plans for the family that weekend or if I am needed at work, I can always be back quickly and return to the campground quickly. Sure it would be nice to be able to take off for long weekends several times during the summer but just being out camping, watching the kids and grandkids running around, no worries in the world, is good with me.
