I agree with buying used. I've never had a new TT or TV.
And pop ups are great. Usually a bit cheaper. Can be towed by your current vehicle. And, maybe more important, they can often be stored in your driveway.
So not buying a new truck and not paying for storage saves quite a bit. THEN, having it in your driveway reminds you daily that you have it. I know a lot of people who store their TTs somewhere and kinda forget about it.
Anyway, it's a balancing act with kids. That's true for everyone no matter what you're talking about. But I'll say this, we camped a TON with our kids (still do with the last two). With my oldest who's older and moved out, I've never looked back and thought "gee, we camped too much." And he still talks about those trips often. Even shows up when his new life allows.
Go for it.
