how to decide on buying a trailer - the dream vs reality

so the wife and I just can't seem to figure this out. we have 3 kids (11, 8, and 5) and just got back from a trip and rented a trailer. loved it. didn't like the feeling of staying in a rental thou...

I agree with Chock. My family and I always tented... it was all we could afford. But we made good memories and have the pictures to go along with them. DW and I didn't get our first RV, a popup, until our 2 kids were graduating high school. DS and his two girls come camping with me sometimes nowadays (the girls are already begging me for a spring trip to Petit Jean SP), and DD loves to tent with her SO and their kids.
