I have lower back issues and this cushion has allowed me to do 400 mile days with no discomfort. I do travel at a relaxed pace and stop whenever I feel like it (or the dog needs to go potty)

we have been known to drive from central mn to daytona beach non stop(27 1/2 hoursfrom our door to my cousins door),except for getting gas.

we dont have lots of vacation time,and when we take a long trip for vacation,we like to get there as quick as possible so we can spend as much time at our destination before we need to head back home. all though sometimes we will make the return trip in two days.

i cant wait for the time to come when we can leisurely travel and take our time doing it.

for those of you that have that much time,you make me green with envy.

I hear you, our friends drive to Okeechobee in one day. She loves to drive - him, not so much. She'll drive 18 hours easily. But he is retired and she works seasonal jobs.

I can usually drive 12 hours in a day fairly easily- but we have to stop every 2-3 hours to use restroom, stretch, etc which means our long drives are 14 hours. Still want to try making it to the RGV in one long drive.

We all had to wait just like you for retirement. It's worth the wait!!

Well, we are kind of an odd pair here. This coach is the most comfortable to drive that we have ever owned. Not only can an individual drive a whole day and be comfortable, but in times that we had to, we can sleep a driver while underway.

I said we can, and we have, I did not say that we do - still. As we are now both retired, that just has not been required. It is my contention that the biggest factor is how comfortable driving your coach actually is. With the last repair (now about ten years ago) the coach became so non-stressful that DW Mary now prefers to drive as opposed to being the navigator in the right seat.

In planning stages of any excursion, I still try to work with an road day that is either eight hours or four hundred miles as more is just not worth the inconvenience. It turns out the if one avoids the blue roads and takes the more scenic routes, the eight will usually be our limiter. That may sound long, but when traveling in pretty country, sometimes darkness comes too soon.

Excercise is another important suggestion. I can sit, drive, work etc all day, but back to the back problems thing, sitting is harder on my back than working. Old age is setting in at 45 here, lol.
BUT, made and country run last fall, pretty much straight thru except for a sleep each way and when fatigued or sore, when I stopped, couple times I just went and jogged a 1/2 mile or so. Works great to wake you up get the muscles moving etc.
