well im gonna make a guess and say that all of you that only drive an hour or two and stop for a break, and only drive a few hundred miles a day are all retired and have all the free time in the world.
me and my wife wont be retiring for atleast another 15 years(minimum)
we have been known to drive from central mn to daytona beach non stop(27 1/2 hoursfrom our door to my cousins door),except for getting gas.
we dont have lots of vacation time, and when we take a long trip for vacation,we like to get there as quick as possible so we can spend as much time at our destination before we need to head back home. all though sometimes we will make the return trip in two days.
i cant wait for the time to come when we can leisurely travel and take our time doing it.
for those of you that have that much time, you make me green with envy.
I hear you, our friends drive to Okeechobee in one day. She loves to drive - him, not so much. She'll drive 18 hours easily. But he is retired and she works seasonal jobs.
I can usually drive 12 hours in a day fairly easily- but we have to stop every 2-3 hours to use restroom, stretch, etc which means our long drives are 14 hours. Still want to try making it to the RGV in one long drive.
