Geeze reading all these I feel like we got screwed. They only came down 500.00 on the 2014 we bought.
Maybe maybe not. If they only came off $500 off the MSRP then there may have been more room for you to negotiate. If the dealer already discounted the price to a competitive figure (as is common now days) before you entered into negotiations then you might have got a steal.
Look, I sell for a living. Fact is - If I price my product at MSRP I'll find a FEW buyers and I'll make a lot of money on a FEW deals. If I price my product in line with the market (what buyers will actually pay) then I'll find A LOT of buyers and make a little money on each. Believe me - I have a lot of buyers come through my doors because of my advertised prices. There are always a few though that think they are getting taken when I refuse to discount $500 and they walk. Fine for me - there is always another buyer. The internet has transformed shopping especially for bigger ticket items like vehicles and RVs - dealers can't get away with charging MSRP when the other 10+ dealers in the immediate area advertising discounted prices. Don't be surprised if you don't get a "HUGE" discount when the dealer already discounted a vehicle before you showed up.
Now that is not to say that you shouldn't be aiming for a target price. Always aim low - and invite a "NO." Thats the best word you will here in a negotiation.
Best of luck to you.
