We bought a cover for our 2nd rig.
Here sun is not the issue, rain is. I put the cover on every fall and took it off every spring. Putting it on involved using a 10 ft step ladder, removing was easy. I could put it on, or take it off by myself.
For our third rig, we had an RV "port" installed. Made certain it was wide enough and long enough and it works for our fourth rig.
The RV port certainly cost more, it is is soooo much easier.
Check your local codes. Where we live no permit was required, some friends assumed the same and discovered they were wrong and then had to pay to have it removed
