I don't see an issue with it. I would make sure there is no food left in it between segments. If you are willing to pay what is necessary to keep it in a safe/secure location (preferably plugged in somewhere). I think it's a good idea. No different than when foreigners fly here and rent an RV and drive from one point to another, drop it off. Just plan your trips so that you end up somewhere that you can park it safely and close enough to a decent size airport.
