- garmpExplorer IIWe generally don't even turn the lights on when we're outside. Firelight does wonders once your eyes adjust. And that's why flashlights were invented. It's sort of a "enjoying nature thing". Your know, that's why we go camping. To soak up the tranquility, not shielding our eyes from imposing glares. IMHO
- fla-gypsyExplorerIf you need lights at night for security your camping at the wrong places.
- old_guyExplorerRoy, that's a lot of money for a porch light
- APTExplorerI have a tri-color LED strip under the awning roll I tend we leave on all night. Kids get to pick a color, but I dim it or turn off if tenters are within eyesight.
- JD_and_BeastletExplorerWe turn on the marker lights at dusk to make it easier to find our site if we're coming from somewhere else in the dark, and to show off, of course. :P
However, we turn off all of the outside lights when we go in for the night. - RinconVTRExplorerA friend of mine thought it was awesome he could jump terminals in his trailer plug to leave ALL the lights glowing at night. I ended up making a couple plugs with a switch on them for him and a couple of his buddies.
I kept one for myself and have used it all of one time. I felt odd being all lit up at night while the campground was dark and using the power at a time I dont really need to. - mowermechExplorer

What would be the purpose of leaving the lights on all night?
I guess security just want to do the right thing
Yep, leave the outside lights on for security. You wouldn't want the crooks to trip over anything while they steal your stuff. They probably appreciate being able to see what you have out there too... :W
In case you couldn't tell, my tongue was firmly in my cheek when I wrote that! :B
My thoughts exactly! Well, except for the "tongue in cheek" part. I am dead serious! Why light up the area so the thief can have no problem searching for what he needs or can sell? Let him (or her) bumble around in the dark. Perhaps he will trip and fall, and you can call the coroner in the morning to cart away the remains. - lucy6194ExplorerWe have a solar powered motion detector outdoor light.
- jarata1ExplorerThanks that's why I asked
- ata3001ExplorerNo. It is extremely rude to those who have popups, tents & hybrids. I'm guessing they would like it dark for sleeping just as you do, with your blinds closed.
