Thanks.
Yes I am looking for a place other than my yard to park the trailer. It would probably fit but I would prefer not to look at it everytime I walk out the front door.
So for the folks who keep the trailer off the island what do you do to stock and clean the trailer. Do you just make picking it up and a trip to the store part of the routine?
Where do you store it for $48 a month?
Battlerow CG sounds good for winter, that is a great piece of information.
I don't want to store it to far north as going south would then mean navigating NYC bridges again.
I store my TT at Yogi Bear in Gardiner. The monthly cost of $48 is when we use it every weekend and only pay storage for Mon. to Thurs. Friday to Sunday is covered under our nightly fee.
I don't limit my camping to just one campground. We will take the TT out of the CG and do week long trips. Last year we took the TT from Gardiner NY to Ocean City MD. Didn't have to go through NYC. When we were done with that trip we dropped it off back in Gardiner.
This year we have a two week trip planned to CMA Fest in Nashville. We will be leaving from Gardiner to Nashville and back to Gardiner again.
As far as cleaning goes, when we take it out of the CG I try to look for a self-serve truck wash to clean the outside. Most campgrounds don't like you washing RVs, but I've broken the rules at times by washing the TT very late at night in the dark when everyone is in bed.
When it comes to stocking the trailer we always bring our clothes each trip. We keep a good variety of jackets, sweatshirts, extra shoes, boots and rain gear in the TT. Bedding and towels are always kept in the TT. My wife will always bring home dirty wet towels and bedding clean them and bring them back on the next trip.
We always bring some food with us or simply stop at a nearby supermarket or Walmart Super Center.
We always keep a notepad on the counter and keep a running list of supplies we need. We pick them up between trips and keep them in the back of my truck for the next trip.
This is our 6th RV in 34 years, so we've kind of got this camping thing pretty well figured out.
