- NYCgrrlExplorerOK my response is going to be from a building mechanical system's POV. Strip out as much as possible of the system's removable parts and fill any voids with a mixture of OO + OOO steel and copper wool and your favorite powdered pesticide(helps to track them to their entry and exit points). Be sure to caulk, close as many spaces as possible.

If you had to store your RV for maybe couple years what would you do?
Would you drain and put anode back in? Would you leave anode off?
Which would be best way to prevent (mess, rust, bugs, etc)
Thanks
I would sell the rv if I couldn't use it for two years. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIDrain the whole plumbing system just like you would if winterizing unit.
Drain WH, use a wet/dry vac with small nozzle to suck remaining water out of bottom then reinstall anode rod/drain plug to keep critters out and protect drain hole threads - Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerI would drain and put back in otherwise I would expect that hole to be a great bug nest, or cover the hole some other way.
